Pew Research recently released a study called Writing, Technology and Teens. The report says that
teens write a lot, but they do not think of their emails, instant and text messages as writing. It says this disconnect matters because teens believe good writing is an essential skill for success and that more writing instruction at school would help them. (hmmm…would a class on texting count as a foreign language requirement? what about texting in a foreign language?)
The whole report is here. I love Pew.
